The Journey to Mountain Air

Depending from which direction you arrive, there’s a relaxing country drive to prepare you for your arrival at Mountain Air. You’ll pass by family farms and wide open fields, historical sites, and a curiosity shop or two. Of course, that’s only if you arrive by land. Those who choose to arrive by air are privy to a bird’s eye view of the area along with a stray cloud or two.

In addition to all the features found at Mountain Air, the quaint town of Burnsville is just minutes from the gate and offers a convenient spot for local flavor, shopping, supplies and services. A host of other charming mountain towns are nearby and ready to be explored.

Mountain Air also is an easy 30-minute drive via gentle four-lane roads from Asheville, the eclectic city that has something for virtually everyone and has become one of North Carolina’s best-known destinations. The community’s residents revel in Asheville’s dining, cultural activities, music, arts and entertainment, but know it’s an easy trip home to their hideaway on top of Slickrock Mountain.
